Live only, they can do it in LV. It's not really fair if you have Dallas -7 and it drops to -5. I put my selections in late, NYG +7 just because. I should have to select +5.
Everyone has the same number, so I don't get how it's not "fair." You might prefer live line contests, but I fail to see how stale lines give anyone an advantage.

The forums are full of threads boasting "everyone is on Team A so I'll take Team B".
That's always been true..aside from the Hilton contest...people do that with other player's picks, tout counts etc...

you will learn a lot here iag. So much so you may even quit playing roulette :hides:
Like you learned what world's biggest/most prestigious pro nfl capping contest was?

It's a fair contest in itself. It's just not a good way to determine who the best capper is.

IAG I'm about 1.6x smarter than you.
I'll agree with that first statement. Hell, I'm feeling generous. I'll agree with both.

It gives an advantage to the guy who wants to wait and see if he can bet into a line thats moved at the original price. So it benefits the scoundrel.

do you understand why there is an advantage betting into a stale line iag?

Yes of course in real betting, but everyone is at the same advantage/disadvantage in the contest so I'm talking about advantage for one player over another , not advantage in terms of betting on stale line.

I have to think about this. I mean, they simply go off W-L record I think and not money, and they are all on a level playing field. It doesn't create an advantage for anyone. I can see not wanting to use the picks for actual betting, but as far as the contest goes, I am sure smarter people than you and I have thought this thru and come to the conclusion it is best done this way. ?

The Hilton contest is exactly the same as the Rx Cfb contest you're in. It create big advantages if you wait until the very end and pluck the stale numbers. There can be some 4+point moves in college. Not everyone has the luxury of waiting to the very end to play.

I know that it is. (Same contest rules) The same argument could be said for someone who is able to wait til the end to wait to the end and "pluck" the moved numbers if that goes in their favor. Sometimes the stale lines might benefit you and sometimes they would hurt you. You don't know. Regardless, it's the same rules for everyone and apparently they have at least 1400 people who are willing to pay $1500 each for such an "unfair" contest.

I don't understand your "not everyone has the luxury of waiting to the very end to play" argument if you are saying it's not fair if you don't get live lines....A lot of line moves happen near game time. If this happened and people took advantage of them on the last day, people would complain that it's not fair as some people don't have time to wait around and watch the lines all week.

And you are in the unfair rx Hilton like cfb contest also. lol.

I get all that. I just don't understand people saying the Hilton contest is "unfair.' Don't like the format, fine...but everyone has the same option to bet stale lines. Some are just better at it than others ie Fezzek
