I am on under 44.5 pts. Pittsburgh has not scored a ton of pts this yr, neither has Houston. There is the 'Watt' effect. Both teams favor the run game a lot w/ Levon Bell and Arian Foster leading the charge. As I see on NFL.com right now, it looks like Big Ben and Fitzpatrick have only 14 TD passes combined going into week 7. The weather is going to be shitty.

That's my reasoning for betting Under.

Looks like both Def are in the bottom half of Forced Fumbles, Fumble Recoveries and Touchdowns... So there is that too.

Another NFL total victim

As much as I tried to leave this thread open for interpretation...ie, all the good cappers are on Houston-it must be the right pick, OR Everyone's on Houston, it must be a trap, I will admit I went with Houston.

I think I am less bothered than I would have been if I would have gone contrarian and lost. But yeah. I'M A VICTIM TOO.

A support group might be in order.

1,500 buy in. Not that many people do it, but alot of sharps do

The Westgate SuperContest, the most prestigious pro football handicapping contest in the world, has set another record with 1,403 entries for 2014. This marks the fourth year in a row that a record number of entries has been set. The winner of this year’s SuperContest will also make another first as the top prize on the BIG CHECK will be $736,575. The top 30 finishers will all collect cash prizes. Contestants will also be eligible for two $15,000 aggregate payouts, one for selecting over 67% winners and another for the best record over the last three weeks of the regular season. If you didn’t get in this year, don’t worry… there’s always next year!

no I'm not familiar.

so if you had 90,000 out of 100,000 handi-nappers on Houston what would that prove?
My bad. I thought everyone knew the Hilton contest. It would not "prove" anything. But generally when you have so many on one side ("public") anyway, it means that the other side is the better play. In the case of this group being smarter than the average bears, I was curious as to how it would play out....that's all. The game could have gone either way. I am not sure when Houston fell apart as I went to bed early, but they were winning when I did. I don't know if the first half would have covered or not. I could look if I were so inclined...but I'm not.

I don't see how that makes the contest dumb. Most contests use this format don't they?....except the GL best bet thread of course.

The EOG hockey contest I'm in uses Pinny live lines. Peeps contests are live lines also. Those reward the people who can get a better number and not just take a team because it moved 2 points based on something after the openers were released and moved.

Seems like that would be a PITA to monitor with 1400 contestants x 5 or 6 picks.

Maybe I am missing something....I don't see how some persons are "rewarded" with a better number if the line moves. (Maybe you are talking about Peeps contest there) But regardless, in the LVSC they are all using the same lines, so everyone has a chance to make the same pick if they so choose.

Force them to make picks either Tuesday or Sunday morning, using live lines.

Picking stale lines is like buying stock at yesterday's price.
I have to think about this. I mean, they simply go off W-L record I think and not money, and they are all on a level playing field. It doesn't create an advantage for anyone. I can see not wanting to use the picks for actual betting, but as far as the contest goes, I am sure smarter people than you and I have thought this thru and come to the conclusion it is best done this way. ?
