There was a sorta similar situation not far from here where a guy with a history of mental instability locked himself in an apartment. It was in a building kitty-corner from where Jen lived at the time so we had an excellent view of emergency vehicles coming and going, while also getting some outline coverage on the news.

Dude locked himself in the apartment and he had a knife.

To repeat: he was by himself and he had a knife.

The incident ended when he was fatally shot by a cop.

I forgot to detail her visit inside our place. It was sad. She was mostly together and pleasant while talking to us, but then she asked to pick up JL who was crying in his mom's arms (because a crazy lady was in his house). She started walking towards E & JL and I told her not to do that. She seemed to realize that I didn't want her there, so she apologized for intruding and said she would check with security whether her "murderous stalker" was still inside her apartment.

That's when things got weird. She started faking a phone conversation while staring in the distance - she didn't have a phone and she didn't even pretend to put an imaginary phone up to her ear. She just stood there and acted her side of the non-conversation:

-Hi, is she still in there? No? Oh good, thank you.

She thanked us and made her exit.

Cops showed up shortly afterwards. Still not sure what was the final outcome.

Wow. Although it makes for good posting, really very sad. What a way to go thru life.

Dramatic twist. The neighbour is hospitalized and her sister is here. She flew in from California. Her family had no idea that her illness was that bad.

Which means that she's gone several years without any help or medication. That's beyond messed up, and I'm amazed she's still alive.

Sad sad sad. Hopefully the meds work on her.
