Met a guy yesterday that was telling us how he made turtle soup with a big snapper...says there's seven different types/flavors of meat on that sucker. The actual process sounds like a pain in the ass. I've never had turtle, but I've alligator a few times, it's pretty good.

had a few different turtle soups when i was overseas. crocodile and alligator too. actually i think i might have had the alligator when i was living in FL.

How does the crock and alligator taste in comparison?
We get it at a local restaurant down the way.

crocodile and alligator i found to taste similar. but i would have to taste them side by side to be sure. hard to compare to the turtle soup because of they way it is prepared in china and singapore (shitload of spices, possibly other meats and seafood, sometimes ramen etc.)

I can't see Ramen and seafood going well together....but I won't knock it till I try it.

I thought they may taste alike as species wise they aren't too different.

ramen with seafood is very very common. most americans havent ever had authentic ramen; it's very different from what most would expect.

I order Ichiban Ramen off the interwebz and I am going to make Ajitsuke Tamago and pork to go with it. You are right though, I've never had the real thing :(
