Would you get on a plane with them? I would get on a plane with every one of those people that got off of those boats in the video I posted without a question asked.

If it was guaranteed they were safe, yes. The Trojan horse factor is a little high for me. Then again, I have little desire to go outside of the Western Hemisphere.

Mr. X, in regards to this issue, who is trying to legislate?

This all started with "What's wrong with Christians putting other Christians first" regarding immigration policy.

I do not "preach" at you, never have and never will.

I would have no problem with you preaching at me. Preach away. It won't upset me a bit until you want government policy to be based on your religious beliefs.

But what if I'm right? You cannot guarantee that I am wrong. That alone should put in place a halt.

Every time the worst possible scenario can't be guaranteed to have 0% probability we don't proceed? That would pretty much bring everything to a halt.

What huh?

Just because a group of Christians are on the shores of Greece helping refugees get off the boats and are giving them food, water, and some medical care doesn't mean that Christians here that want to send them back to where they came from get to take credit for it. It completely contradicts and reverses all of the good that those Christians in Greece are doing.

Obviously you are not familiar Samaritan's Purse, the organization that made that video.

I personally have helped put things together for the boxes that organization sends out. Damn. American Christians be damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Obviously they need staff in Greece, but they are based out of North Carolina.

You're obviously missing my point. There are a bunch of Christians on the sidelines here wanting to send those same refugees right back to where those boats came from. Doesn't matter who made boxes for them if those same people want to send the refugees right back into the war zone and/or under the command of an oppressive regime.

Why do you say "if those same people" want to send the refugees back?

The boxes are for another outreach they have. My point was that I know that it's not just a few of their reps in Greece that are doing their good deeds. You keep saying there are few Christians that are doing real work.

Talk to me when atheistswithgoodmorals put up a video pulling refugees to safety like you posted.

Not every Christian is perfect. Not every one is involved. But I bet you dimes to donuts, they are more involved as a whole than the group that you claim.

I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not (note Matty-not sarchastic,) but I definitely do. I was (if I haven't mentioned this before-ha) the 605 state debate champion which sort of instilled in me to dig in my heels in arguments. I have definitely gotten better, and I do see both sides of this.

When I saw Tron's post, I thought of you right away.

We don't usually see exactly eye-to-eye, but it's obvious that you listen to what everyone says and you try to defend your position or adjust it when you can't. I really appreciate that.

How do you know that one of the refugees doesn't create a multi-billion dollar American company in the future if given the chance here?

In the late 70s the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society(HIAS) of the US helped this little refugee boy named Sergey Brin, whose family was being discriminated and persecuted because of their religion, resettled in the US. While in university at Stanford in the 90s he went on to found this little company by the name of Google, now worth $527 billion dollars employing 55,000 people.

HIAS now. http://www.hias.org/faq-hias-response-refugee-crisis-europe

Thanks. I appreciate that because it is something I have struggled with over the years.

There are roughly 230 million Christians in America. What percentage of Christians are over there doing that? My point is that if you want to send the refugees back to "where they came from," you are completely reversing the good that those Christians in Greece (a very small percentage of the Christians in America) are doing. I don't know how to make that any clearer.

Once again, you cannot claim you're moral because of what a group of people (not including yourself) are doing over there (whether they have same "Christian" label as you or not). You either support what they are doing or you contradict it. I support what they are doing, and I'm not criticizing those that are actually doing good. I am criticizing those that are making those efforts of good futile.
