To all the armchair internet detectives out there who say they can "hear him rev the engine in the video"...well the video is zoomed in which means it is nowhere close to the actual car and the engine you hear isn't Stewart's. Duh!!! You are taught as a child not to walk into oncoming traffic. I think Stewart was trying to avoid the guy and made a mistake with the car. You hear drivers in every level of racing, no matter how many years they have been racing, admit that they made a mistake with the car and caused an accident. It was a tragic accident. I'm watching NASCAR race now. And what did I hear? "He overdrove the corner". All drivers make mistakes with their cars. In this particular case, the deceased driver got mad and was gonna show up the big name driver on the course. He walked into oncoming traffic, leaned forward to flip Stewart off and got clipped with the car. I think Stewart was trying to avoid him.
