May have to wait. Made the mistake of getting out of bed and still have electrical probem. Burning electrical smell emitting from the circuit breaker box filling the basement. Fuses blowing. I had electrician the other night who said they would come out yesterday..no show...called last night and were to come this morning...None of the other places the other night even got back to me. Pretty soon be in to night/weekend rates again if I can even get anyone to come out here. WTF. I don't want to have to call 911 again.

Mom's got weird symptoms going on..really need to get her back to doc but feel like this house thing has priority. Wish me luck getting ahold of someone. This town is booming and all the tradespeople are hammered with new construction.

Good luck girl. If you are brave enough, I would turn all the breakers off until someone comes to look at it.

If you haven't already I would unplug as much stuff as you can as well. keep as many of the switches off or lights and fans as you can.

Good News- I got desperate and called in a favor. The city chief electrical inspector guy is coming out this afternoon. Out of their normal course of duties I'm sure, but even if he can give me and idea about if I'm good thru the weekend, that would be good. I have laundry piling up and am scared to use the dryer. At this point I'm almost hoping something IS wrong (easily fixed) so as to justify my hysteria.
 
Ha Ha. City guy here and he is calling the electrician and going to "hurry him along." Contractors probably don't want in bad with the city who approves their work. He sees what he thinks is wrong. Man. I have learned more about electrical stuff in the last 3 days as I learned in my whole life. I have to smarten up on these things like Cami. Fok.
 
That wasn't what he described..it was kind of complex. But there are several "hot" things going on. I'm not very good at understanding mechanical stuff on the first go. Left/Brain right thing issue.


Just want this done so I can move on to the sick mom and dog after knowing we won't burn up.

You're perfectly justified in your hysteria. Electrical shit is nothing to fuck with. If something ever feels hot, and smells, then there is a problem, and if it doesn't get handled, could potentially lead to a fire, among other things. I am glad it is getting handled. I would not want you going about on the weekend not knowing whats going. I would say hold off on the Laundry, hard to tell what all in your home is affected, could be one thing, could be all of them. keep us posted.
