once you start to work out , by hitting weights or cardio each day, you will probably have to step up the calories a little bit, wal... but in the form or an extra chicken breast or piece of fish...you dont want to lose muscle, so you have to keep your protein level decent... and dont be scared to sign up at bodybuilding.com and start wearing out their search feature... it really is a great site for nutrition, dieting programs, strength stuff...etc.

Teela, I'm watching the count pretty closely. The baby carrots are 7 calories per and the snack consist of between 5-10. The apple I haven't found a calorie count for yet but that's because I haven't looked just been guessing it was about 100 calories. With the sub I sometimes add a single serving bag of Lay's Baked chips (plain) so that adds 130 calories there but no saturated fat grams so that's good.

Reno, it is a low caloric intake but for my metabolism it has to be. Actually it should be a little less but I am trying to do this without B-12 or some other form of energy. Not a problem yet cause it's early but as time goes on energy level could be an issue especially when the exercise increases.

RayRay, I'm not following any one diet plans out there so as long as the protein is high and the other stuff is low I can add it. I plan on adding grilled and baked chicken and maybe fish as I go along, maybe cook in bulk on weekends so I can take to work during the week. Either way though I really want to keep the calories where they are.

The easy part is the initial weight loss due to having so much to lose. The difficult part will come later when the weight loss starts averaging 1-2 pounds per week.

Arch, my FLOW is strong.

sounds good Wally

let's have another day of strong motivation and will power Wally!!!!

don't worry about what the distractors are saying, and don't worry about protein, its over-rated

elaborate on this. I hear mixed stories on this. Girl in Denny's once said you hardly need any protein at all. Everybody else always making fuss about protein. Probably be beneficial to me to cut out most protein. :dunno:

Wally, do B12 if you need it. I get injections monthly and take a daily supplement (which I probably shouldn't). I am concerned that your caloric intake is too low. If it's too low, your body will start to protect itself and your weight loss will be limited.

Good advice Teela!

More and more, vitamin B12 shots are becoming a health fad. Not too long ago, they came recommended by the doctor and then only for serious B12 deficiencies. Now, with the discovery of the multiple benefits of B12 for the body and overall health, people are opting them into their wellness routine. High energy people, politicians, stars and anyone who is constantly in the public eye and has to look energetic all the time has probably tried them.

So what are the benefits of B12 shots?

B12 increases metabolism, the side effect of which can be weight loss. With regular B12 shots and a combination of other weight loss regimens, people have reported to lose weight much faster and they attribute it to the shot.

B12, as we said earlier is a great energy booster. What better way to deliver an energy booster than directly into the bloodstream? The other option would be to take a supplement, which would take many hours in the digestive process and would lose much value along the way.

Speaking of value, with a B12 shot, you retain almost all the B12 none of it gets lost in the digestive process. For comparisons sake, a B12 tablet leaves you with only 1.2% of B12 in the tablet. A shot will lose very little, if any.

b12 Shots are highly recommended mood boosters as well. B12 is essential for a properly functioning central nervous system we know that dysfunction can lead to depression. If you suffer from mild depression once in a while, you can try a B12 shot as a mood booster some people have reported feeling happily giddy afterwards, but not for long. In a few hours, it settles and you are just happy!

B12 is essential for a properly functioning cardiovascular system. It thins the blood and prevents blood stickiness. Blood cells sticking together is what leads to a blood clot which can cause a stroke.

I've never heard of anyone getting monthly B12 injections. Do you have a condition or your doctor just recommended it?

I'm anemic and I was getting them weekly. I'm at the point where it's controlled enough through monthly injections. I know several people that have gone to weight loss clinics for B12. Like MrM said, it's supposed to help the metabolism. I have a deficiency, so they do not have that effect for me.

i eat a b-12 pill with my one-a-day and other supps...

wally, i wasnt suggesting that site for you to follow any 1 plan, but to find different foods and shit to eat, actually... there are so many recipes and shit that are really good for you, but you wouldnt think about... i go on there and come out with something new to snack on or add to a meal all the time... that initial weight will come off a lot faster if you hit the cardio 30-45min a day too wal, but you knew that...gl buddy
