The first one was the band. I popped it or it slipped or something when I was playing football. I dove, basically belly flopped and something popped inside. At the time I didn't know that the band was made to be adjusted or repaired or any of the things I know now about them.

The second operation was working great because I was staying active playing softball a couple nights a week, I was coaching and out on the field or court with the kids all the time, I was working out, I was umpiring on nights I wasn't playing ball or coaching and weekends. I was constantly in motion. That all came to an end when I tore my knee and achilles playing ball. On top of that I went through a year of serious depression as well.

I fucked up, I got a second chance and I fucked up again. What more can I say Durito?

I have a metabolism that requires low calories and won't tolerate in-activeness. Unfortunately I have knees and ankles that make the in-activeness less painful. Simple dieting hasn't worked out so well, partially because of will-power and partially because without being able to do the activities I need to do I would have to remain under 1000 calories to lose weight and even then it will take too long. I NEED to get this off now or I won't be able to walk until I get my knees replaced. I can't get my knees replaced until I am 50 according to insurance and even then if I don't have the weight off it will do little good.

Fok, talk about over-sharing here.

I just wasnt aware it was something that could be done more than once.

I have heard that the gastric bypass can be done twice max. The band can be repeated over and over.

The sleeve, from what I can tell can only be done once because they actually cut out a portion of the stomach. I asked the nurse I spoke with today if I could even do the sleeve since I had previously had the bypass procedure done. She didn't know the answer to that.

What happen then? Was that an emergency situation into the hospital?

So when you get these things done, my understanding is you have to be careful and not eat much etc. So why not just not eat much without surgery? Is the hunger so strong? It's hard for me to imagine how going through surgery is easier than sticking to a diet. (since you're gonna have to stick to a diet anyway) I might be missing something :dunno:

lot of good metabolism boosters out there.. i drink a couple Hydroxycuts each day and drink iced green tea stuff all day...seems to help me and really helps when i diet and exercise...just something extra to look into, wally...good tasting stuff too...good luck buddy

my friend did the band and has tons of issues and ultimately had it taken out. i suggest against it.

Cali, that is just one person and hard to recommend somebody against the procedure solely on that one example. I'm sure there could have been contributing factors.
Wally, this looks like a good forum to check out http://www.lapbandtalk.com/
I would imagine using requests such as "Pics or ban" would be frowned upon there.

:+1: T'was my first thought as well. Anything to speed up the metabolism would seem more logical, and easier, than restricting calories to such a low amount.*

Wal, MrsM's friend had the bypass bout 7-8 years ago and can not be done again! She gained her weight back and has had other health issues cause of it! One included hair falling out and had to intake bags of B12 cause her body wasn't absorbing enough nutriuents! She has had times where she eats something and feels like she has to throw up and crap at the same time! Regrets she ever had it done!

A co-worker had the band done about a year ago and i didn't even recognize him when he came back months later. Nobody knew what happened to him! Don't see him much at work and a quiet guy so very little conversito between us so if he doesn't mention it and I don't pry into it but he looks fantastic! I never heard of the sleeve before! Good luck with whatever you do but research it in great length like I know you will!

AvMed doesn't recognize or offer provisions for gastric surgery.

Look's like I will need to start winning instead of just playing around with a hobby and make some quick cash for Mexico.

In the meantime, one meal per day.
