I got some serious bummer news today

It wasn't "very bad" news or even "bad" news. That stuff is reserved for a family member falling ill or losing your job etc.


But it was a kick in the gut nonetheless.


I was supposed to go on the vacation of a lifetime on Saturday. Paris/Vienna/Prague/Budapest. Staying at ridiculously nice hotels, the whole nine yards. I had told Matty all about it. I've been REALLY excited about it for 3 months. I've researched all the cities/hotels night and day.

The guy who arranged the whole trip (the tickets/ hotels/ restaurant) is by far my wealthiest friend.


Doctors discovered pre-cancerous tissue on one of his mothers ovaries yesterday. She's NINETY years old.



The whole trip is off. I took 2 weeks off from work, renewed my passport, bought a winter jacket yada..........


Fuck.


I'm really not looking for sympathy but I just kind of wanted to talk about it and I had told Matty about it (and Juror) so it was going to come up anyway in discussion.


Anyone have any similar stories so we can bond? And choke each other?
