The other day she bought two tickets to a concert for $200 total on stub hub when she could have had them for $150 total from Ticketmaster (it wasn't sold out). On top of that she didn't use the right credit card for generating maximum rewards. I tell her to tell people she fell down the stairs when they ask about her bruises.

Tronner I live pretty high on the hog... I just happened to find the best price on the hog.

50% on rent is pretty brutal. How long have you been in your current location? Can you negotiate with your landlord? Would you consider buying a similar condo, it might make financial sense?

I hear rent in Denver is getting ridiculous. Too bad I have no desire to be a long distance landlord any longer than I have to. I would definitely buy if I were you Feno. cough cough.

I've considered it for that reason. Probably went up by 40% in the last 3 years. The word is it's cause all the rich potheads are moving here :dunno:

but it might be another housing bubble

I'm selling as soon as mom passes and I can get out there and get it handled. Obviously I will give current tenants reasonable notice, and first right of refusal, but they are getting a hell of a deal right now.

Hopefully prop values go up during that time. I know my property taxes have gone way up. You know I'm right up the street from the OTB....:megarock:

I remember doing a budget decades ago and I was spending over a thousand a month just on booze. That was strictly drinking at home - almost never went out.

~$33 per day on average for alcohol. 25 years ago.

That didn't count additional drugs which were considerable.

The mind boggles.
