Well, yeah, I get that you're not taking off work to watch the Jays in the playoffs. And that's reasonable.

I'm just saying that thousands of Jays/Pirates/Cubs fans will be taking time off work for the playoffs.

And if you have plenty of vacation time and are a big baseball fan that's totally reasonable as well.

I had that discussion with poster Fiveteamer and I came to the conclusion that taking a day off at the last minute to attend a ball game would be a CLM - a career-limiting move.

I could pull it off, but it would definitely be -EV long term. Unless I was able to hide the fact that I went to the game, but I tend to overdocument my boring life. So yeah no.

More power to you guise.

We're having some kind of Blue Jays lunch here at work tomorrow. Hot dogs and I-don't-know-what-else.

There is some kind of contest too where everyone makes predictions on 5 questions about game 1. I believe I took 2 BJ home runs and 9 K's by BJ pitchers and 3 hours, 22 minutes. A couple other things I guess.

We are encouraged to wear our Blue Jays gear. I don't have any. I had some at one time - a cap for sure - I recall a Willie Upshaw t-shirt - but I guess it didn't survive the great purge of 2011.

But anyway, yeah, fun.

How it works here is that season ticket and flex pack holders buy entire strips of playoff tickets. From WC to WS. Whatever they don't play in you get a refund for.

After these tickets on Friday I'll have spent over $1k on Jays tickets this year. Should have just bought a fucking flex pack.

When I went to 2 games at the 1997 World Series tickets didn't go on sale until after the Marlins advanced to the Series.

It was the same when I went to 2 games in the 2003 World Series.

Do they have a different set up in Chicago?

He's a full season ticket holder so they get first dibs. Obviously it's a freeroll by the team to bank the money for a month or two.

I would imagine very few single tickets will be available since the seating capacity is smaller at wrigley than at the old Pro Player Stadium. The media credentials wil take up many seats also.

If you invited your boss to the game, you could be VP.
