Steve...this is a horrible horrible horrible bad idea. I don't know what more to say other than that. If you want something with this chick that is one thing...and great but do not lay it all out there in the first meeting with her in years. You can spend some time with her...you can be her friend and see if it blooms into something but man you cannot do what you are thinking. It will be a disaster.

that doesn't mean that she wants you to say you will give her a ring now. That is too sudden. You have to understand even though she doesn't have a ring, I am sure she has a strong attachment (and I am sure love) for the guy she is with. It may not be the ideal situation but that doesn't mean that she would leave him tomorrow.

Like i said...spend some time with her...get to know her again. I wouldn't push her to leave him...if she is going to do that, she needs to on her terms not because you put the idea i her head. Possibly down the road you guys could try something again but for you to throw that all out there now...wow that would be bad.

It is not she is getting married in a few months I wouldn't mess with that. What I would mess with is a drugged up BF who has his gf grinding a tough job and isn't doing anything to better things for her.

Amby I definitely like your advice here I will just kind of meet with her and take it from there. 173 wants to play it cool but I want to shut the other guy out of the picture ASAP I doubt he has a few thousand for a ring now but you never know.

Agree with it or not, it is developing on your forum. TY for that suggestion Robin that would be a better answer then how he got rid of Tyler in my opinion - much better.

And yes the Manic thing is being looked into 173 was pretty bad yesterday, it does run in the family and it just might be time to address that. If we bring this girl into this with us we need ot be on point in every possible way.

We love you all whether or not you agree with what transpires keep that popcorn ready.
 
Steve, I didn't even read the replies to this thread, I just ff'ed to the end so I could post. As a perpetually single guy, I am telling you SLOW THE FUKK DOWN. I have read other threads concerning your past relationship, and this idea here is way out of control. You need some serious time off from relationships to get you some guy time; re-evaluate at a later date with a clearer head bro...

I think you're placing WAYYYYY too much weight into what you feel is a proper amount of money that a ring should be worth.

This should be the least of the factors you are considering here.
 
Stevie, lots of good advice and opinions and not one post that says go ahead with it? What's with the ring being such a top priority? Then sleep on an air bed for awhile when your settled in at home?

1 confused person + 1 confused person = successful marriage (long shot even Pico wouldn't touch) Good luck with everything!

My personal conclusion regarding 173/174. Either Stevie is taking his favorite new movie Fight Club too far (I'm talking role playing, D&D in your parents basement, fake ninja too far). Or he is joking.

But all the other stuff sounds like delusions of grandeur.
