It's always interesting to see who the movies are using as despicable bad guys. Of course there were a lot of Russians (Soviets) for a long time. Arabs became a favorite. There was some liberal backlash where arabs became red herrings and anyone assuming the arabs had to be the bad guys, were kinda bad guys - along with whoever actually ended up being the bad guys. Germans have always been an easy alternative choice. I understand that North Koreans are turning up in a few places now.
