Ok.

Unfortunately with a non-paid item you have to allow the original non-paying buyer the opportunity to respond. Should they not pay or respond you will get a final value credit, the 15.20 charged by ebay will be reversed. You do have to wait the alloted time to let the process play out, don't send any more communication now that ebay is dealing with it.

AFTER the non-paid item is processed you can offer second chance. I would appologize to the second chance buyer, tell them the original buyer hasn't paid and should they not complete the sale you will re-issue the second chance. Yes, the final value is only charged based on an actual sale.

Thank you. Exactly what I needed to know. :pope:

I've won 8-10 auctions based on second chance.

I'm always surprised at the number of people (including people with lots of feedback) win an auction and don't complete the sale. I even get a lot who use buy it now and then just don't pay. It's weird.

FW thats cool if you really want the item.. but certain unscrupulous sellers abuse 2nd chance by proxy-outbidding the top bidder and thus allowing them to max out the next highest bidder...

So if you bid 100 on an item and it closes at $75, you were never outbid, you pay $75. If I proxy bid 125 on my own item then cancel the purchase on my second account I can offer to you at $100... just be wary.

Every one I've won, they offered to me at my final price. I just esnipe what I want. I'll rarely pay 50% on there unless I really need it.

Boner or anyone..do you know how long I have to wait for Ebay to do their non pay inquiry so they will reverse the final value charges? For some reason I thought they had 4 days to pay and this other guy is emailing me wanting to do the second auction and when I go into ebay, looks like case is still pending...it's been almost a week. I know I should be able to find it in there but keep getting rerouted to wrong place. I will be able to do the 2nd chance auction even though I cancelled the first one right? I won't have to relist or anything I hope.

I dunno how long second chance is available for.. it sounds like you have a decent item that peeps want tho so fuck him. Unless you need the money quick relisting will get you good value.
Do you mean it may not be available after this time frame passes with Ebay? I told him it was his so I will keep to my word I guess if he wants it whenever. Although it sounds like I might have to relist? And then maybe do a Buy it Now with a Heads up to him right before I list it?
