Okay so I kinda looked over this thread and it's a little more advanced than I'm thinking.

Let's boil this right down to the simplest and most basic.

I have two items I want to buy, complete DVD box sets of all the seasons of Golden Girls and Mad About You. (Don't look at me like that; they're not for me.)

I do see them there on eBay. I also see them on Amazon but they are much cheaper on eBay (although I don't really know how these auctions tend to go).

So first question: does eBay make sense for me? Do I just sign up and put in a bid and away we go?

Yes and yes. Note that the vast majority of auctions have a Buy It Now button for hassle-free buying. Lots of sellers also allow you to make them an offer, which they can counter.

I buy so much shit on eBay it's not even funny. *with a Jeremy Clarkson accent* Cheapest store, in the world.

So I am seeing a few options on Golden Girls (stop looking at me like that). They are all around $45 which is fine.

So I guess I want to start factoring in the sellers' reputations. A couple of them show 100% positive feedback but only based on 5 or 6 reviews (if I am understanding correctly.) Doesn't seem all that overwhelming to me. Is that normal?

Personally I'm not dealing with anyone under 10 feedback.
