Also for first 77 minutes Italy had 0 SOG and 0 corner kicks.

@roguejuror poss ad was only 56-44% for Spain, but as you stated, plenty of Italy's was from useless backpassing. Unreal!
 
1) Appears Italy has no one better than Ciro as a lone striker. Don't know what manager will do against Croatia?

2) Only need draw to advance so take out older guys Jorginho and Di Lorenzo next match. Love to see young guys like Fagioli and Cambiaso get a shot. Every player out there looked a step slower than Spain's.

3) @roguejuror as you stated. Croatia older especially midfield so press and go forward against a Croatia that doesn't look anything like previous ones.

Kinda the same as first half Austria controlling play for most part but Poles have 7-8 men back to defend. Haven't seen it yet but Poland scored with one of few chances in first half Austria having only 6-7 men back on defense. Like the aggressiveness but too impatient looking for second goal.

Most capped player in Austrian soccer history hopefully put the nail in the coffin. Old guy 35 yo so didn't start about France manager probably thinking let's just get a draw. Though if you need a goal he's the man. Announcers said he was ready to be subbed but glad he stayed in for the PK!
