I've spent so much time bitching about the bad beats, bad breaks and just in general unluckiness of my experiences at Ocala Poker it's nice to be able to post back to back winning sessions here.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday they give away $300 to the high hand every 30 minutes from 1pm till 12am. So Friday I started telling the dealers I would give them $100 if the dealt me the high hand and it held up but it was a safe offer because I never got a high hand. The Karma though may have played a roll in netting a $700 profit for the day.

So today I went up on my offer to $150. The 3rd hand dealt to me I turned a straight flush as I had the top and bottom cards. Unfortunately the river card continued the straight flush but canceled my bottom portion and I didn't qualify for the high hand cause both cards in your hand must play. I won the pot naturally but it was smaller than the $300 high hand prize.

I bought in originally for $300 in the $2-$5 game and played for a couple of hours with little luck and no luck and at one point was all in for my last $65. That was my limit for the day cause I wasn't gonna give back all my profit from Friday. Anyway I doubled up on that hand and the very next hand I was dealt AA. The flop comes A-10-A. The quad aces won the pot and they also held up for the high hand. I kept my word and gave the dealer half of it.

I played until 10:00 and cashed out $1520 so it was a very good day and a great last 2 sessions of poker. As unlucky as I have been I was pretty fortunate to come back from $65 to $1520.

its a pretty big joint then, wow that's a lot

23 tables and they are generally all full on weekends. You figure they pull a $1 from every pot under $50 and $2 from every pot over $50 and deal on average 12 hands per 30 minutes per table. So you figure an average of $3 every hand would be $828 every 30 minutes on the high end and highly doubtful less than $400 on the low end.

FOK, I am starting to turn this thread into my personal poker chronicles.

Went down after work today and played $1-$2 NL for 3 hours. Bought in for $200 flopped 2 pair the 3rd hand dealt and lost to a flopped set. The very next hand again I flopped 2 pair with the nut flush draw and again I lost to a set. So I was down to $37 of my $200 and ran it up to $400 then lost back $130 then back up to $445 and left.
