Canada is Larger than China

I tried to find this thread the other day through the search function. First thing I did: search up threads started by Rogue Juror.

It wasn't there.

As it happened I knew the exact title of the thread so that worked.

Much to my surprise ---> Blitty started it. Who knew?

Not me.

I feel like I have an idea what the thread is about but I'm not sure I could put it into words.

Interculturalism refers to support for cross-cultural dialogue and challenging self-segregation tendencies within cultures. Interculturalism involves moving beyond mere passive acceptance of a multicultural fact of multiple cultures effectively existing in a society and instead promotes dialogue and interaction between cultures.

This is a sugar maple tree.

I'd tap that.

Yes, a sugar maple leaf was used as a model for the flag.

Unfortunately, sugar maples only grow in the east half of the country - so there was some controversy about the choice in the mid 60's when we moved to replace the Union Jack - but ultimately, the decision was made to basically screw all those western guise.

One alternative was the Red Ensign flag which had been used as a de facto Canadian flag at times in our early history.

Here is an 1891 election poster featuring Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada's first Prime Minister, holding a Red Ensign flag, while on the shoulders of a couple Canadian dorks.

Depends who you ask I guess.

Some very good curlers have come from Manitoba. Jeff Stoughton has won a couple World Championships. Same for Don "Doogie" Duguid. Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Jones is from Manitoba.

Many good hockey players including Olympic gold medalists - and Stanley Cup champs - Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith.

Hall of Famer Bobby Clarke is from Flin Flon Manitoba.
