We're tentatively scheduled to go on a ride with local Strava legend Rob V on Friday.

Rob tried to beat my KOM yesterday and he failed miserably (my KOM is 1:24, he did 1:46):

For the record, Rob runs ultra-marathons and he can complete a regular one in 2:45.

What he doesn't have is an abundance of fast twitch muscle fibers like Mark Cavendish and yours truly.

lol

It's just Strava. Owen Sound has a tiny Strava userbase so we quickly become aware of each other, and run into each other like I did with Mike C last week. In fact, if Rob bails tomorrow Ima go hang out at Mike's place which is along one of my usual routes.

I've been making friends out of Internet non-people for like 20 years now. That's how a lot of us introverts operate. The Internet serves as an ice-breaker and that somehow takes care of my otherwise crippling social anxiety.

Good ride and talk with Rob V today. Gave me a few tips on nutrition and shit. We only rode a dozen or so kilometers together since our schedules conflicted. We might try again next week.

Going to take the day off tomorrow, then I'm 90% certain I'm going to ride to the end of the Bruce Peninsula on Sunday. Going to end up in Tobermory which is very scenic and extremely touristy. About 75 miles total from the family cottage in Hope Bay.

I was perfectly fine, for real. If you fuel correctly and keep a moderate pace you can keep going all day. It was especially easy because the weather was mild.

Should be similar tomorrow but the daytime high is going to be a bit higher. Still, near-ideal conditions once again.

I filled up my Camelbak thingie with a caffeinated drink mix this time, on the advice of Rob V. I'm also bringing bars and gels but in theory the drink would be sufficient for this 75mi effort.
