Read what I wrote. I didn't say I'm paying money out of my pocket. I said I lose money by working there. Initially I had thought that the nanny I already had for my other job would cover the hours I needed for SBR at the same rate so it would be SBR pay - nanny fees for those hours = takehome pay. It doesn't work that way because I work for them at night and her agency charges more as a penalty rate. And they also have overtime and a minimum charge even if he goes to bed an hour after she gets here. So for every hour I go over the max per week ie when my child stays up later than normal which happens at least once or twice a week, I'm dinged even more so. It's just the way it worked out between his sleeping schedules at times and my reluctance to switch nannies after this long. :)
 
okie dokie...if its affordable to have a nanny there all the time, then have at it sister...just seems like the forum gig would enable you to work from home and without needing extra help all the time (of course i understand needing help sometimes too)

RJ, truth be told, I just don't have as much to contribute here. I'm much better at flaming and trolling than I am picking winners. I've had a few NBA threads before that did decent but they're not up to the quality here. Hell, Durito has more money in D- books than most of us will ever make in a life time, what could I ever offer.

RJ, I want to rent vespas and sell coffee to locals in central america, is that market saturated?

It's my fault because I didn't bother checking how stuff actually works here before accepting the job. Figured I'd be paying the same regardless of time of day and never expected to have to pay overtime. WTF. Once I realised that, I assumed I wouldn't be here long so I thought I'd just suck it up for awhile. Of course I wasn't able to leave last year when I had thought so it's just dragged on and the more my son gets to know her the more I don't want to switch to someone else. To be fair though, SBR has been increasingly generous with my pay so it's often pretty negligible. Working from home lets me spend way more time with him obviously but I also don't think it's fair for him to be sitting here watching me work so I want someone to keep him company when I can't 100%. I still get to do the mummy stuff but at least he has someone to play with until it's time for him to go to bed. Just sucks that these agencies have all these rules. It's basically like they're in a union.

And yeah, the AFL is starting to get really tough. Between hitting those bets on the Djokovic match and forgetting to put in Collingwood I escaped a beating. Almost scared to touch it now.
