Dave ,

I don't dispute anything you've said. It was shocking to most of us posters. If you wanted to do more they should have let you. What I got out of the whole deal was you were doing things that sbr wanted you to do outside of sbr. You did what you think you needed to do.

As I expressed earlier in this thread, this was never brought up to me, before or after my firing. So I believe it was a non-factor.

I don't believe that was the case. I think there was some haziness in the language... I read at one point that they said I was "more interested in other ventures", but I don't think they were referring to AP10, I think they were referring to the fact that I turned down their writing gig. They fired me unceremoniously and then said "oh, by the way, we do want to keep you as a writer", and the idea of working for them after the way I was treated didn't vibe with me. That was probably so hard for them to compute that I would dare turn down the job that they ran with the arbitrary "he wanted to work on other things".

A few points worth noting. One, why didn't they start talking about my firing until months after I was gone? Almost like they were trying to get their story straight.

Two, lets say it did have something to do with AP10. First of all, as Bill was firing me as I was walking to my car that day, he didn't mention it despite the fact that we talked for about 15 minutes as I was pointing out how silly it was that I was being fired. If that were a contributing factor, there was no reason he wouldn't have mentioned it. Secondly, I never signed anything and was never asked not to work on personal projects. Obviously I was told not to post at EOG or Rx, but there was never any dialogue that I couldn't work on other things. If that were a factor (which I clearly think it wasn't), they would have just asked me to stop or slap an SBR logo on it I imagine. If they would have asked me to stop, I'd have obliged.

"Doing what I had to do?" It was just a Pac-10 blog with my best friend. It wasn't gambling based AT ALL. I always produced original content for both sites, never reproduced. It was just a fun side project I was working on, it was never meant to compete with RBS in any way shape or form. I never mentioned it on RBS, either.

Again, this "stance" of theirs came long after the fact, and I believe it was just concocted after the fact to try and make me look like the bad guy.

What exactly is it that crazylou does?

Sets up contests that he can't grade?

Posts -1200 tennis losers?

Gives durito infractions for nothing and then brags about?

Deletes old posts of his before he was a mod when he made an ass of himself?

Yes, I believe he does do all those thing, I'm not so sure how they help sbr. He does seem to be involved in disputes now, which is why when i have one (almost never) i email justin and bypass the complaint form.

Lou helps Bill handle disputes, sets up/runs contests, and (unlike me) doesn't ask too many questions, he just does what is asked of him.

I wasn't a big fan of Lou's persona on the board and didn't like the way he belittled people when he won and disappeared when he lost, and made huge guarantees and what not. Granted, the regulars knew him, but newcomers that see gambling forum moderators guaranteeing picks and telling you to put your mortgage payment on them? I wasn't a big fan, but that is online-Lou.

Behind the scenes, though, Lou is a good worker for RBS. He follows instructions without asking questions or making suggestions like I made the mistake of doing.

What did Johnny, Dozer and Willie Bee have to say about me when I burned that SBR T-shirt? Or did they say anything at all? According to Willie Bee (which he could've been lying about)- some of the "higher ups" weren't too pleased. That was in an e-mail and I basically replied to get over it...it's a goddamn T-shirt.

Yeah, it's a goddamn T-shirt, but it was free to you and it was a symbol of our site. Like burning the American flag... it's "just a flag", but obviously Americans are going to be pissed off and offended. How did you expect it would make the higher ups feel?

I don't think they were all that upset, just thought it was lame/disrespectful. Pretty sure Willie personally didn't care.

Do the Kings beat the Bruins tonight Dave?

You know, all week I've had this gut feeling that Boston would win this one. Them getting back Sturm and Savard AND us losing Jack Johnson (meaning god-awful Randy Jones plays) doesn't change my opinion.

That said, I think Boston is absolutely unbettable at -135. They've lost 6 straight, just played last night, and the Kings are riding a 4 game winning streak (winners of 7 of last 8) and are rolling 4 lines with a lot of chemistry right now.

I thought Boston would make a good home dog, but heavy favorite? Serious disrespect to the Kings here. I'd put the game at about 50/50, so if I was betting it, I'd be on the Kings at these stupid odds.

I think people actually misunderstood what dozer wrote. I got the impression that all he said was that you chose to pursue your own projects rather than continue in the writing gig they offered after the firing. I didn't take what he said to mean your other projects were the reason for the firing. But, then again I'm a fucking idiot so perhaps I misunderstood.

I agree completely. I'm pretty sure that is what he meant.

But then, perhaps we are both fucking idiots.

Well you are but that doesn't mean I don't like both of yous......

Dave don't get me wrong I'm not disrespecting you in anyways, I actually do like you. The way the whole thing went down just didn't seem right. But at the end of the day, I hope it works out for you, and certainly RBS is going down it's own road and looking at the path you wouldn't have fit in. BBD wouldn't have fit there and I'm shocked justin is still there. I personally think RBS needs justin more than justin needs RBS.

Oh I didn't take any disrespect! You were just pointing out what you'd heard over there, and I was just clarifying that I didn't think it had much to do with it. I wasn't taking it like you were attacking me or anything.

Quite honestly, I think they hired me without thinking too much about what they really wanted from me... and when I was there, they realized they were paying me too much to just do videos and write (which is a valid argument). They were then faced with the choice of trying me in some other capacity or letting me go, and decided to let me go. All of that is fine, it happens all the time in this day and age.

I again just don't see why they couldn't part with me in a respectful way, and furthermore why they felt the need to comment on me and my firing on the board after the fact. Plenty of people have asked about Ganch and they haven't felt the need to explain to you guys why he was let go. So why was I fair game, when I left gracefully and didn't say a word about them publicly until now?

So Ganch has been let go? I haven't heard anything to show this as fact but I suspected as much. If he hadn't I think he would have posted. That's too bad because as much as he can dance math circles around me I learned a lot and still have a lot to learn from him. Hell I was into modelling football in the mid 1980's just didn't realize what I was doing was modelling. I have university courses in statistics and am still learning how to apply that knowledge to gambling. I have always said gambling is about the math and that is so true. If you don't believe it you are learning the wrong math.

Relax guys, Ganch was not fired, he is working on a secret RBS project. He will be posting soon.
