I can't decide.

Choosing to love is to experience the fullness of what life has to offer.

Choosing to be loved offers safety and security.

What do you guys think? I bet you would rather be loved, wouldn't you? I bet you will find some angle relating to receiving sexual favors.

Sons of bitches.

Love or be loved?

I contend that being loved by someone you don't love back is no better than having the roles reversed. I dumped my last GF for precisely that reason - I felt bad all the time for not reciprocating.

Matty is starting to get in the spirit of it. He has found the dark underbelly.

To prefer being loved over experiencing love smacks of neediness and insecurity. Although you probably get some good sexual favors out of it.

Muddy's question has no valid answer to me. I don't wanna be loved by someone I don't love or respect or otherwise don't want to be loved by. I would make a shitty celebrity.

MrMonkey - gun to the head, I'm gonna be the pitcher. I'll be gentle with you.

Reciprocated love is definitely the best, but I'm not completely against one-sided love.

Being loved without loving back is not so bad, as long as you're not an asshole. Getting some sex out of it would nearly always fall under being an asshole.

Loving without being loved back is definitely more challenging, but also can be not-so-bad, once you get the hang of things. It's usually not a good idea for the younger crowd. It takes a lot of self-awareness that often doesn't develop until the mid-30s.

You go ahead and try that. Your lover will start testing you with stuff like, I don't know, her fokken birthday date. She'll tell every one of her friends and family members not to mention anything about her b-day in front of you. Then you're obviously going to forget about it every fokken year - I mean what kinda person makes zero mention of her birthday all the while having very clear expectations? Anyway, she's going to forgive you cause you really feel awful about it. Then you'll feel awful some more cause it's really pathetic of her to stay with you.

This isn't just an anecdote, it's a scientific fact.

I usually remember birthdays.
