This is a common misconception.

Yes, soccer players occasionally dive, especially in the box.

But the majority of guys going down in pain are actually going down in pain. Getting kicked or stepped on with metal cleats hurts.

My dad moans and groans about diving EVERY time someone goes down. I can't watch games with him around.

I’ve found that folks that don’t like soccer really like to tell people that like soccer how much they don’t like soccer. You hear it a lot mostly every four years. :dunno:

Also how they would "fix it", like the world's most popular game needs fixing.

Thousands of other things to do, go do them. Why complain about not liking it instead of just doing something else?

Hear from people stating times where clock should be stopped. Not for that but off the top of my head I would possibly do is ....
1) If no throw-in within say 5 seconds other team gets throw-in.
2) If no goal kick by GK within ?time? other team gets corner kick.
3) If no corner taken within ?time? other team gets goal kick.
4) If no free kick taken ?time? other team gets one.
5) Also on subs coming in must be done ?time?. Stalling tactic that is allowed especially near the final whistle.

You know more than me playing it and just thinking through it if do the changes I proposed like then a corner kick becomes a goal kick etc etc, how much more wasted time is there changing it to the other? Too much I presume.

The thrown-in stalling though I believe could be a quick change to the other team from the same spot. I remember P Maldini from Italy in a WC getting a yellow for taking too much time. That I thought was too harsh. And the slow walk after a sub bothers me of course when my team is trailing.

Looks like Croatia would be happy to go to PKs. Lots of scary Brazil possession in front of goal that might produce a goal at any moment but nothing materialized. Brazil better be careful with too much going forward and one counter kills them.

Yes and that's what scares me that Brazil will get desperate and give up a goal. Look I see Juve play lots and Danilo is solid but not a RB who I would say is the quality expected on a Brazilian national team. Also Alex Sandro was the starting LB until injury and Danilo switched to that side. Sandro has been subpar at best for Juve last couple years. Yes Brazil can score at any moment but defensive players like this can supply that one crucial mistake.
