ALERT MR.MONKEY

Took my little ones to baseball practice this morning and guess who was there?

Your boy.

I took some video for you.

He hit off a tee for about 45 min then took some standard BP.

He was staying at the Wyndham last night in Ft Lauderdale.

Needed some work after an 0-3 night last night.

I've gotta admit.... the Phillies are just a machine right now. I don't see anyone (inc the braves) stopping them in the NL. And I don't see anyone in the AL with a pitching staff to slow them down too much either.

I do think the Phillies' biggest hurdle will be the Braves though. Call that a homer opinion, but the Braves have the familiarity and pitching (esp bullpen) to cause Philly problems like nobody else.

Jello, if the Phils go in a hitting funk every team scares me! You can't expect Halladay, Lee, and Hamels to give up only 1-2 runs every game! Could lose 2-1, 3-2 type games very easily! Like you said with the Braves BP if you aren't up on them by the 7th then the Phils will be in a crap shoot!

Will be updating this before Sat! Way more reasons why they won't win it instead of winning it! One day doesn't solve the problem I worried bout that has been the case of late!

My bad thoughts seem to come true more than the good ones! If not a big fan I probably would be putting some bets down against the Phils like Dafty would with all the value the opposing teams get for each game in the playoffs!

Still a big fav by BM to go all the way but no way I bet them!

Well 102-60 was the final record! Most wins for a season of any Phillies club ever but they won't be the greatest team ever without a WS title!

Little preview of what I see and whoever wants to tell their side of rooting against the Phils, please do so! I like rooting against teams as well as the next guy!

Yes, the Cards appear to one hot club going coming into the playoffs! Great hitting club all year and they have a veteran starting rotation! But after seeing the Phils go through that dreaded hitting drought I think they have it out of their system!

By accident Chase Utley's woes and Hunter Pence's brillance has made Manual change his set lineup and IMO lot better! We now have a starting 8 of Rollins, Utley, Pence, Howard, Victorino, Ibanez, Polanco, Ruiz! No more opposing managers bringing in that killer lefty to face Utley and Howard back to back!

Averages last 10 games for the 8 hitters: .288, .212, .389, .333, .167, .294. .235, .344! Only have produced 6 HRs but everyone is making good contact! Utley appears ready to come out of it and IMO Victorino is the only guy really not being patient at the plate!

PATIENCE, that's the word when it comes to how the Phillies going hitting wise! When they wait for their pitch the team seems to be able to hit anybody well! Some games I see I say to myself well the opposing pitcherds aren't going to throw you strikes if you're swinging at the other crap!

The starting playoff rotation of Halladay, Lee, Hamels, and Oswalt are looking good! Hamels has pitched well but has gone back to giving up that not the right time long ball of late! Oswalt has that up 94-95 MPH rising fastball back to his days of being right up there as the best pitcher in the NL!

The team is ready to just go out and play their game! Only concern is the bullpen as a whole! Madsen appears to be solid as the closer but I wouldn't rank him as one of the lights outs type guys who do it day in day out!

Appeared just a month or so ago that the young arms of Stutes and Bastardo were the in stone 7 and 8 inning guys but both seem to have come back to earth that when used will be on pins and needles seeing them get through an inning!

So it seems Lidge is now the setup man to Madsen and guy has pitch better of late but still a hit or miss in getting the job done! What a few MPH off your fastball can do to ruin your effectiveness!

Bottom line in the series with St Louis the Phillies being able to score 4-5 runs on any pitcher and the Phils starters being counted on to hold the Cards to 3 or less! Hopefully the starters go 8 innings! Hopefully Tony LaRusso goes back to batting the pitcher 8th in the order! How did that work out for the genius!

Right now the weather calls for 50% chance of rain at the start of the game that could continue till at least midnight! Slight wind towards the right field foul pole! Sitting outside with a chill of sorts for first time this year that you have the feel of say pitching in Toronto!

As well as Kyle Losche has pitched this year the guy is very hittable! Only thing different is he has given up less BBs and it appears to have had better fielders behind him this year!

So the Phils RL is an official appears to be a play selection! ML too rich for my blood! You can get the Cards RL for -120 if not better or ML around +200!

Appears to be a Play Record 3-2
