There's a rum called Brugal from the Dominican Republic, I have no idea if its widely popular in the US but you can easily find it in Miami. Not that expensive, very smooth, great taste. Not something that will fuck you up right away, good to be downing it for loing periods of time which is what I like to do to just keep the buzz going.
