Not disagreeing that trout is a better ballplayer, he is categorically. But in terms of "worth" it's closer than that graphic portrays. The dollar is worth about 30% less today vs. 2011, pitching is arguably much better (SO9 up about 25%). Also, demand is relative to the market ONLY at the time the demand is measured and not relative to any other markets.

I'm still sour he preferred Mets. While I know there's more details that show it wasn't insignificant money.. it's unfathomable to me that anyone would choose the Mets over the Yanks. And yes, I know how Yankee fan that sounds.
