Dafty, I kinda like what he did last night at least! Gomez will be very lucky not to be thrown at his head by just bout any pitcher next year! Very punk like move but now-a-days what do you expect from these kids! Wasn't just McCann upset on the Braves! They better just focus on the playoffs!

NL East thoughts .......

Atlanta - A Did what they had to do
Washington - C+ Strong finish didn't make up for bad start
Philly - D- Disappointing season and record was proof of it
NYM - C- Thought they do better
Miami - C+ Thought they do worse

I would give the Phils a D because they didn't get younger and have some tradable pieces and decided to hold. Their future doesn't look good. The mets did decent considering they have no money. They have some great young pitching that can be built around. The future looks much brighter for them than Philly.

The Phils future does look pretty bleak FW! No starting MLB talent in minors at all it seems! End of year hitting drought shows just what their main problem is for 2014!

Glad GM Amaro didn't sign any over priced FAs for 2013 and don't think their are any good ones for 2014 either! Pence for 5 years 90 million shows money seems to only get higher! Only one I would like is McCann but not more than 3 years!

Phils GM stated attendance way down this year like it correlated to how much they will spend! OMG I hope not but hope they don't spend just to spend! With the way the A's, Rays, Royals, Pirates fared and then the Phils, Angels, Giants miserable seasons getter players from within might be the better way to go?

Phil's have a lot of bad money tied up. Like SF and Chi, it's tough to sell off when you have a large season ticket base. Building from within is always better because it's cheaper. It's also better for small-markets to build this way.
