Wins are not an empty stat and neither are RBI. If you want to say they are not as important as they have been made out to be historically, there could be a marginal case - but to call them empty is trying too hard.

Wins and RBI's have obviously been overrated historically.

You can have a well below average WHIP and Win a ton of games because your team has an outstanding offense.

I'm not sure how overrated RBI's have been. Wins weren't overrated when pitchers were pitching every 3-4 days and going 7+ innings. When 3+ relievers come in and spoil a great start, it makes the wins less important.
