No, it is not okay for the Mets to honor an active Yankee like that. If they want to trick him and when he gets out to the mound, they gang tackle him and fart on his head and say the Yankees fucking suck - that would be an appropriate way for the Mets to treat a Yankee who is about to try to beat them.
But to actually honor him in some way? ----> no.
