I'm not sure that there is a real strong correlation between attendence and front office performance.
Yankees would be a good fit for Correia. Maybe they can ship A-Rod to the Pirates. His payroll is more than the whole Pirates team though.
The true LULZ is that you can buy $4 tickets on StubHub to most ballparks around the country. MLB is going to be addressing that if I'm not mistaken.
But let's not let facts get in the way of some good ol' Marlins bashing.
Marlins World Championships: Two
Rockies World Championships: Zero
Is Miami's lack of attendance an ownership issue or a commentary on the South Florida sports fan?
How about the Marlins playing in an open air football stadium for 19 years?
Baseball succeeding in South Florida has been an uphill climb from the get go.
Even the Dolphins (with the exception of last year) have pretty average attendance...
Why are the pirates are out drawing the white sox? Go figurw
They used to be a very hard ticket. The last 10-15 years that has sure changed. Dolphins are another team with horrible ownership.I guess it is championship contender or nothing in Miami.
LOL
There must be a lot of people dressed up as empty seats in the lower bowl at regular season Heat games.
The Dolphins are practically giving away season tickets.
The Panthers? LOL.
Gamelive.com: home of the only person on the planet who thinks Miami isn't a shitty sports town.
How many home games do the dolphins have vs the marlins?
I'm not buying the excuse that it's a bad sports town. It's bad for the Marlins. It doesn't seem to be that bad for other professional sports teams.
The Dolphins still had average attendance (versus the rest of the league) prior to last season. Even starting 0-7 last season, they managed to finish higher than the Bengals in home attendance percentage.
Holy fuck everyone knows what the "tickets sold" statistics say.
Corporations buying tickets but no one going to the games.
Corporations gobbling up tickets + empty seats = shitty sports town.
The Dolphins are the biggest draw in Miami.
Pre-Lebron it wasn't even close.
