Checking out NL teams with chance at playoffs coming into the last month with apprioxmately 30 games left.

Presently in NL looks like LAD, MIL, PHI, ARI, ATL, SD being the 6 qualifying with MILW being only sure bet winning division though LAD and PHI should make it at worst as WC. See only 3 teams NYM, CHI, and STL possible could slide in.

Knocking out STL chances, record better than should be and tough Sept with 6 at NYY and MILW while also 6 home against SEA and CLE. Mets not looking good having 3 vs BOS, 7 against PHI and ending season at ATL and MIL for 6.

Thinking Cubs only team with a very slim chance and won't be ousting ATL or ARI. Possibly SD out? SD at 2 SEA 3 LAD 3 ARI and home only 3 HOU. CHI has 16 home in left in Sept. with 3 vs NYY and 6 at LAD and PHI. Though left 7 WASH 3 PITT 3 OAK 3 COL. After miserable start to 2024, Counsell might get them there.

So the Dodgers hit back-to-back-back homers on Wed. and again yesterday. Edman and Muncy again part of the trio.

So looks like the Cubs are done. So 7 teams for 6 spots. Phils, Brewers and LAD appear in while SD and ARI have slight ad over ATL and NYM. Shows NY difficult schedule so probability they won't make it? PHI, MIL, and LAD fighting for the important byes. LA with 9 games involving COL and Miami has the ad though Phils have tiebreaking ad over them and one win over Brewers next 3 gives them that ad also.

AL looks like 5 in and most likely Minny, DET and SEA battling it out for 6th spot. Minny with 3 game lead on both and harder schedule SEA and easiest of three for DET. CLE and NYY appear will get the byes.

Lots of totals set at 7.5 lately. I like betting unders in MLB pregame and then sometimes try to hedge or middle a double win live but 7.5 its strictly OVERs.

Todays game Tor/Tex (7.5) jumped off the page as an over, hit in the 4th inn.

Cubs 2024 season mirrors the 2023. Pretty tough to make the playoffs when you lose 4 out of 6 to Colorado and Oakland in must-win spots. Cubs getting to 84 wins will be a big sweat.
