well, I don't know what to expect. I'm not expecting 1987 thats for sure. Has Canada looked good? :dunno: I guess the impenetrable defense. Perhaps Russia will try to muck around and hope to get a lucky break late. Kinda like in the exhibition game.

More worried about sad display I might witness than excited about what might be a fun game. Can we have a good game:sparesomecutter: :common:
 
on a side note, Malkin really not the player he was in the 1st few seasons. Guess those injuries wore him down. Ovechkin hasn't been either, that acceleration that made him stand out... not there. He still does some pretty cool shit though. That assist against Finland :up:

Canada's D will put on a show tonight. Actually Canada has been really on cruise control up to now. I expect a much different Canadian team tonight.
 
Canada has looked good - except they seemed to go to sleep for the last 10 minutes of the USA game. That was unsettling. They were comfortably ahead - and they won - so maybe it's nothing to worry about but I will fret about anything in these situations.

I remember the 1996 World Cup and how Canada tried to go into cruise control too early. Ehhh different scenario. Whatever.

But Canada has an insane amount of skill. They got the defense. They got the goalie.

But 1 game - you never know.
 
I think you will see Canada playing a much defensive and highly physical game by their Dmen and their 3rd, 4th liners will be banging hard. This team is ridiculously skilled, but of course anything can happen. Even their bangers are highly skilled.
 
Not super happy with Canada's play but I can't get too uppity about it given the score. Russia made the one bad mistake and fortunately Crosby knew what to do with it.

Is it just me are have there been some super cheesy penalty calls though? Refs need to settle down and let them play.
