I didn't forget but the main participant was AWOL and then went to Vegas to lose $27.
Thousands were gambled. But I lost $27

:dunno:

what can I say?

anyway, the combo of the Bitcoin crash, my 2nd Moderna shot, a guys trip to Vegas and shooting a music video in Southern California had me off the grid for a stretch.

apologies, plommy. I flaked but I had legit reasons for flaking.

Let’s do a 24 hour fast Tues/Wed or Thursday next week?

Goes without saying pal. I figured you gambled thousands.

Reminds me of the time back in '98 when I drove from Toronto in my old Ford Taurus wagon to Vegas for a month at the Imperial Palace.
I spent 4 weeks there and lost $2500 total wich included everything, hotel, food, fuel, etc.. Was down more but had one really great day that started in Mesquite NV and ended at the now defunct Showboat on the outskirts of town. Was playing Pai-Gow ant went on a 20 hand winning streak where I kept increasing my bets. My buddy flew down to Vegas and we spent two weeks together gambling and having fun in sin city and driving around Nevada and Arizona.

The Showboat was a rundown old hotel with 70 yr old cocktail waitresses that me and my buddy tipped well because we felt bad for them. Why the Showboat? Because we wanted to see the bowling alley with 100 lanes in the basement. We both bowled in a very compettive mens league back in those days. Not bowling for trophies, we bowled for prize money!!

We will try to do another fast, I'm in.

Mesquite was a pretty place. I remember seeing the lush green grass on the golf course right in the middle of a desert.

I like that story Plommer. My 1st trip to Vegas was in '99. I remember spending hours on the 2nd floor of Imperial Palace trying to hit the progressive on the 9 fruit machine. Was right next to the $7 buffet, where you used to be able to get your own drinks. ...Everything seemed so much more exciting then.
I still have to drive through Mesquite every time, and stop in at Virgin River casino

Yeah pal, plommer was a decent bowler back in the day. Mens league every Wed night at 7pm for almost 10 years in my 30's.
Some very good bowlers. Saw quite a few perfect 300 games. None by me, my best was 270 something.

Anyway a couple other things I remember from that month long trip to Vegas. Driving through Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Utah and Colorado and getting pulled over by a trooper just after crossing into Colorado. Didn't give me a ticket cop was only interested in making sure the VIN numbers on the dash and doors all matched and then sent me on my way.
I remember thinking how pretty Utah was.

Also, the day in Mesquite happened because me and my amigo lost a lot of dough the day before. I practically went bust and so we decided to cool off with a driving day trip away from Vegas. I think I went with $50. Anyway the incredible run started like this. I bet a $20 exacta in the racebook and it hit and paid ~$25 for $2 so I got $250. Then played craps and won another $500. Then drove back to Vegas and stopped at the Showboat where the PAI-GOW table we sat down to play at went on an incredible run and I played like 20 or so hands in a row with only wins and pushes, so I made around $5k. I turned $20 into almost $6k on a fluke. I think I lost $5k the day before. I probably went with $10k total - yes, I had a little money back in the day thanks to being a partner in a computer processor smuggling biz. I used to have $30k in a drawer in my apt.

I can still picture those really old broads (senior citizens) at the Showboat dressed in tights and sexy outfits made for 20 yr olds. Was quite sad that they had to work at that age. Made me feel good to tip them well as they looked quite tired.

Also, when I got home I received a $1500 phone bill cause the cocksucker phone company was charging me roaming fees for the entire month while in Vegas.
