A goldsmith is goint to melt it and turn it into something like this:

Much cheaper to pre-buy the gold and have a goldsmith do what you want than it is to buy a name-brand ring.

Was going to buy a Krugerrand but I found that Olympic coin on eBay, had to have it. Came in a fancy leather box.

Matty, the coin is cool but turning it to a ring sounds like a really bonehead financial move. As we all know im incapable of valuing sentiment tho, so im sure itll pay emotional dividends.

Bone bone that ring in the pic is 2400. My total cost with the coin will be around a grand (I paid 750 for the 1/2oz coin.) I'll get back whatever metal is left after the ring is made.

Coin itself has little value, it sells for a small premium over spot.

22k "crown gold" stock is hard to find, it's a custom order. Simpler to buy the coin. I like the slight red tint.

ah I see. Yeah I like the reddish too. I think it's not as pure. I wanted the Kruggerand which is reddish, but they didn't have many choices I got the Australian kangoroo

Okokok... I get having a goldsmith mint you a fresh one, but i would have thought he would have cheaper bulk ingots to save you $$$. But if the coin has little commemorative value and a unique tint its prolly worth it.

I hate talking about gold. I literally LOST 2 1 oz American Eagles last summer. Still makes me sick to think about it.

Just hoping to find someone honest I put up a reward ad on Craig's List. Some fucker put up another ad outbidding my reward on MY coins!

Good question. I had about 5 oz with me...took 3 in and sold them at the dealer...had the other two with me I THOUGHT in my purse...went to car wash ..they may have fallen out and car wash guys took them.. ..or were lost in the park at a Sheryl Crow Concert that night....guys with metal detectors were all over that place the next day. I searched everywhere...reported to police..everything...I often unconsciously do things like put stuff away in a "hiding" place...tore the house apart...still hoping I just stashed them somewhere and had no recollection of doing it, but doubtful.
