Durito or anyone else,

I will be flying spirit air for the first time and looking for some survival tips. I have read some horror story's about them. What can I expect? I know it is seriously no frills. 2 of us are flying for less than the cost of 1 on any other airline.

Advice please.

Never flown Spirit but i fly Allegiant and they are basically the same. They have a lot of add-on charges, but still cheaper than the big boys. Probably the complains are from flyers who fly first-class all the time. Unless you are tall, the seating on those is fine. The plane is probably just an older model, and just a little smaller.

I'm 6 foot fairwarning. I would rather spend my money where I am going than on getting there.

You're fine then. I'm 6'2" and don't have a problem. For the price you can't beat it. I got nonstop from South Bend to LV last year for $100 after all the fees were added.

they actually charge more for a carry on.

Try to pick your sit on an exit row (for free), if you can't, find any upgrade to the big front seat. Range from $20-$40.

Anyone try Porter? I believe they have a couple of intra-US routes. Best airline ever, cheap fares and free booze and food even on short flights. Small, noisy turboprop planes but fantastic deal overall.

Last trip was on Spirit and the small terminal outside of AC was way more convenient than Philly Inter! I give them 10 MattyRains!

Well air canada was 1175 to costa rica... Sirit was 426 plus 60 for backages and taxes...... lilke I said 2 of us are flying for the same price as one. Review to follow once it is done.
