Did anyone happen to catch WOF last night? I always have it on for mom...usually don't pay much attention but this caught mine. I have never laughed so hard. I was like WTH?? If you don't want to watch it all, at least watch from the 3 minute mark. Apparently it was their first special needs contestant. I now feel bad for laughing, but according to the internet, I wasn't alone.
CREAM CHEESE COFFEE CAKE!

I see nothing to laugh at. Just awe! how sweet!

You know your going to hell now right?

Trust me, on live TV it was funny when there was no background story.

I'm not laughing at him per se, well maybe, really just laughing at his excitability. ...now I feel all bad. Thanks Cami :(

But even Pat Sajak was laughing! I'm only human!

Rayray....I know you weren't thinking aweeeeeeeeeeee how sweet!

Rationalize away. Regardless of his metal state, I still didn't find it funny.

P.s. the host chuckles a little, but isn't laughing so hard.

Pretty sure anyone watching the show could tell he was special needs.

He shouldn't be allowed to have fun because he has special needs? I was in the kitchen and laughing before I even saw him.

He was obviously trying to ham it up. "Wheel de Fortun!" or whatever he said..do you thnko he was not trying to be funny?

I only gut reacted feeling bad once I saw he may have Downs or something, but then realized I wasn't laughing at HIM(or disorder) I was laughing at his antics...same as what the people on the other board said.

Jeez Pucky. Now I know how you felt when you were painted as a cat killer.

Oh I didn't know you were in the kitchen, cool, my bad chick. calm down and carry on. (woulda helped if you told us that in the first place women!)

No, He is not allowed to have fun, ever, because I said so. (note the sarcasm)

I had a job where I dealt with a lot of disabled people. I already had very much of a soft spot for them, but that really further developed that and my sense of empathy for them. They are just trying to live their lives as are we and have been given a different set of cards; for anyone to feel empowered by that, to feel they are in any way weaker or bad people for it and to want to be mean to them and/or ridicule them in any way is just saddening.

Well I was when I heard him yell the first thing Viva Wheel of Fortune or whatever he said. ...I laughed..and then I came in the other room and watched and I still laughed...because he was so damn excited. I think most people know me well enough to know that I would not make fun of someone with a handicap.

I have a feeling that show will make that kid famous or at least give him his 15 minutes. Good for him.

Even if I were perfect, which I know I'm not close to or will ever be I still wouldn't want to be in any way mean to that kid. It must be tough for him and I'd love to hear that he hit the lottery or something.

One thing I never, ever do is make fun of challenged people. And I never use the word "retard" or call someone that. To me, it's just a vile word to use, but whatever. I certainly don't get bent out of shape if I hear someone use it.

Laughing at someone with a disability is, to me, 1000 times worse than joking around about killing cats or giving a cat antifreeze.
