The fok is wrong with Putin? Defending Ianoukovitch makes him look as corrupt as him to the rest of the world. And there's no way the rest of the world is going to let him annex Ukraine.

Fok that troublemaker.

Where's my sniper rifle.

A 7 in a 7 year is generally bad. A lot of Numerologists would say it's an "introspective" year but I've found that to be vastly generalized. Snake years tend to be war years 1917 (WW1), 1941 (WW2), 1953 (Korean War), 1965 (Vietnam), 2001-present (war on everyone). But the horse year that follows it can be as well. My opinion (with Obama headed into the most difficult period he could imagine) is he should stay the fuck out of it.

What, you think russia's supposed to do nothing while fascists take power in ukraine? You understand large part of ukraine is russian and Crimea was only given to ukraine when it was one country. Its a pattern of western policy to divide and conquer as what happened in eastern europe. You can always find nationalist factions and promise them support. Common tactic.

Laughable that the west thinks they can criticise putin here. Russia needs to get on the offensive quick or risk suffering similar fate as yogslavia

It is not my intention to over-simplify the situation in the Ukraine, but I cannot help but remember the countless times that I played the game of RISK as a youth. Ukraine was always such a crucial country to hold onto, and was always in contention unless the borders were massively built up.

I'm sure in real life, it is a pretty tactical piece of Real Estate to Russia.

The US has as much right to be there as Putin, none. Why doesn't Russia let the Ukraine people vote for what they want? I have a good idea why. There are a lot of Russians who live there but they are in the minority. There are a lot of East Germans in Germany, but I doubt they yearn for the old way of life in the Cold War era.

They who man? The fascists? Yeah the usa has a right to threaten iran and invade countries on opposite continents. But russia has no right to get involved in matters on their own boarders. Ukraine, where millions of russians live. im sure the west would like to cut off russia from crimea, not gonna happen

Putin knows what he is doing. His early maneuver has made sure that these anarchists just lay off from Crimea and has hence saved some lives.

What can we do?” asked Fiona Hill, a Brookings Institution scholar who was the government’s top intelligence officer on Russia during the Georgia war when Mr. Putin deflected Western agitation. “We’ll talk about sanctions. We’ll talk about red lines. We’ll basically drive ourselves into a frenzy. And he’ll stand back and just watch it. He just knows that none of the rest of us want a war.”
