I agree with Janay and Cami. Mrs. Rice was beating on Ray, yelling and spitting on him. I do not condone his hitting her but in this situation they both were at fault. The authorities dealt with it at the time. So all this outrage on her behalf 7 months later is more than lame. Obviously they worked it out since they got married in the meantime. As for the NFL overreaction, if the President of the US getting a blow job in the Oval Office, after hours by an intern young enough to be his daughter, not that attractive but still prettier than his wife, doesn't effect his job performance how does an elevator smack during off season by a football player?

Is it cause he is black? Is the NFL and ESPN racist?
 
Clinton was impeached, Rice was banned by the NFL. Doesn't matter if things like this occur on the clock, or off the clock, doesn't matter if they are still good at their job - these are not the type of men that the NFL or US want representing them.

The better presidential comparison IMO would be Watergate. The mechanics of the cover-up and subsequent bustedness are very similar.



It is weird to see Roger Goodell who worked so hard to install himself as the kick-ass, authoritarian, iron-fisted commissioner in this position. Like, think of how he accused, tried and executed the Bountygate guys based on so little. Just cuz he wanted to. Striking up a pose.

It was not just guys who supposedly participated that were sanctioned - but also guys on whose watch the shit allegedly happened, whom no one was even suggesting knew what was going on.

Even if you believe Goodell never saw the in-elevator vid before yesterday - which would make you the gullible fool of all time - but never mind, just suppose - if Roger Goodell was treated with the same fairness as he showed the Saints' leaders in Bountygate, he would be long frickin' out the door right now.
 
(Not getting into the fact that, again, the in-elevator video contained no important information that wasn't already known so why it is making such an impact is a fucking puzzlement and a strong statement on human retardedness.)

I think it was that the video showed the reckless way he dragged her out of there, and then pretended as if she was just passed out and he was trying to wake her up in front of the security guard. That made more of an impact to me than the fact that he decked her in a heated moment. Jmo.
