How long have the toes been numb? I wouldn't wait too long on that. Do you have another toenail base under the one that ripped off? I agree with Nina that it could be a toe fungal issue...have you been wearing new or ill fitting shoes lately? I would see a doctor if the numbness doesn't quit in a day or two.

OR:
Maybe Chris ripped it off when you were asleep to keep as a memento.

OR:

Aids.

:dunno:

I'm sitting on the sofa and my toes are numb again. It always happens at night when my body is at rest. Here is the toe (attached). It had been such a nice pedicures toe...

i said that to my parents but they said not to worry about that because diabetes doesnt run in the family....

dad says toe nail fungus, but there are no visible signs.

i think my body is simply falling apart.

Type 1 diabetes is the hereditary form. You can get type 2. A couple of symptoms are foot problems from poor circulation, and constant fatigue from your blood sugar levels being messed up. It also causes your body to premature age.

So the entire nail did not fall off? Did just part of it, or did it separate from the nail bed and one can't tell from the picture? I like that color btw.

I was just reading about how nail clippings are used in blackmagic in spells to control persons. I hold to my Chris theory.

It's all beginning to make sense now.

i wear heels all the time, maybe it's that
That could be it, but if it continues, you really should have it checked...if nothing else for peace of mind.

If any more toenails fall off maybe you could give them to the angry birds for their nest. You could negotiate. No singing outside your window at 1 am, and they can have exclusive rights to your toe clippings.
