Random thoughts

Sure I admire some athletes and actors, but I think I will stick to making my heroes those that actually have an affect on my life.

There are a lot of athletes and actors who are worthy of praise. Many of them use their fame and financial freedom to promote excellent causes. George Clooney and some of his Oceans 11 pals do some great stuff in the world. Michael Pinball Clemons is a local athlete (now ex-athlete) who is an almost impossibly great guy. He could probably run for mayor but he is too busy being a spokesman for outstanding causes.

But a guy like Manny Ramirez? He was a self-centered tool who could hit a baseball and that was about it. Michael Jordan? I don't recall him ever being about much besides shooting baskets.

If you must have heroes people, pick the right ones!

Well that's my point, I truly admire those that create charities and such, but I don't think I could see them as a hero, as I do not know them nor do they affect my life in anyway, good or bad.

I also think I will pass on the horse meat.

I'm pretty sure you can get horse meat at a bunch of places in Quebec.

I don't get the taboo.

SO VERY TENDER
Horse meat naturally gives the impression that it has been tenderized. It is considered, and rightly so, to be the most tender meat at the butcher’s shop. As the saying goes: Old beef, bad meat, old horse, good meat! Connoisseurs appreciate aged thoroughbreds and half-breeds because their meat is ripe, tender, very red, succulent, and their fat is very firm.

I have no objection in principle to eating horse meat. I don't feel like I have any business getting uppity over people eating any particular dead animal. Like what? My choice in dead animals is the exact correct one and anything outside it - like people who eat dog or monkey or whatever - are savages?

I don't see it that way. We are all savages.

However horse has never come up for me. With my lack of adventurousness in eating, I can't imagine what else would have to be on the menu for me to select it.

Blitty, how was the date last night?

Spectacular.

I used the old bait and switch. The plan was to go to dinner, but that turned into edamame, then saki, then beer, then whiskey, then beer. Back to my place. More beer. Half an episode of portlandia. 17 minutes of sexy time.

After she left I met up with a group of friends at bar. We took X and raged it till 5am.

All in all a successful V-day!
