Random thoughts

I wasn't sure if I would want to go to the glasses for it - I do use reading glasses - but ultimately I did not.

I don't think I missed anyone I feel really bad about. Maybe I should have known Tupac. It was a familiar face and I was pretty sure it was music but I couldn't get there. I missed Serena Williams but I feel like that was a crappy pic of her.

Got Ron Jeremy of course.

I was positive that Dame Edna was Sally Jessy Raphael. I entered Raphael and it didn't work but I was so sure that's who it was that I kept trying to spell it different ways.

But it wasn't Sally Jessy Raphael. It was a female impersonator.

Whoops.

The kitty has started a new habit, and has turned my leg into her personal scratching post when she wants my attention. I'll bat her away, pat her head and go back to whatever I was doing, which is usually something on the laptop, and she will just sit there, right next to me, staring at me until I give her attention. She has different meows for the different things she wants and whatnot. Tends to annoy Steve, I like it, I like being able to communicate with her.

teehee, I love cats too. Reno, she just has different meows for when she is hungry, or wants out, or is just being a whinny butt for attention. She knows how to get her point across, lol. I like dogs too, Steven should have met me when I was walking my dog that one day way back when. Had a cat then, he's dead now, it was always falling over the railing and down the stairs. Dumb cat. lol.

On another note, my arm and knees are all bruised up from tripping over a beer bottle last night. It was funny though. man, I am so accident prone.

I love SNL even when it's really bad. I love the fact that their job involves trying to be funny, and failing 95% of the time. When they do succeed, they produce some magical shit.

Okay I mostly envy the writers' jobs. I think I could, too, fail to be funny 95% of the time for a living.

I had heard people talking - often raving - for years about a sketch comedy show called Mr. Show. I like the guys in it well enough - David Cross and Better Call Saul from Breaking Bad - but I never saw it. Recently it started showing up in my TV listings so I thought, great, I'll tape 4 episodes and finally check this out.

I watched one and deleted the other 3.

The other thing out there would be Dave Chappelle's show. A lot of people raved about that. Maybe I'll see some of it someday. But there is no sensible reason to expect any different result from Mr. Show

I didn't watch Kids In The Hall when it was happening but I have seen some of it since then and I find it to be at the top of the heap for sketch comedy. Now what I have seen is probably just the greatest hits - which is not a fair way to evaluate the overall thing - but whatever, there is some good stuff. And I liked Brain Candy a lot.

Not enough to make me want to watch KITH reruns but some good stuff.

Actually, I just remembered, I love Monty Python. How did I forget that? So I guess sketch comedy is not a completely hopeless concept for me.
