Random thoughts

I was going to make a post today about my computer being haunted. I am working on a song and every time I listened to it, there were two spots where I would swear I could hear a phone ringing. It was faint behind the music but I could hear it. The first time I heard it awhile back, I was listening on headphones and I actually took them off to go get the phone. Thought I was hearing the sound of the ring, muffled through the headphones.

But the phone was not ringing. Spooky.

Now I did this obvious thing. The song has 11 tracks so I listened to each one individually. But I couldn't pin it down. No phone on any individual track. But I played them all together, there it was. Fokking strange. Makes no sense. Thought I was going mad.

Fortunately I had the inspiration to try one more thing. I played the whole mix, muting the tracks one by one. Doing that, there was one which, when muted, I could no longer hear the phone.

So that was the culprit. I still couldn't hear that phone when I listened to it individually but whatever, that was it. I rejiggered the track and now the ringing is gone.

Weird thing is, it was an electric guitar track. I play the electric guitar directly into the computer so even if the phone started ringing like crazy in the middle of recording, it shouldn't pick it up. Vocal track, sure. But electric?

Haunted fucking egregious computer.

That is so weird, I swear, this is the only house I have lived in where I am always hearing random noises and then no one is around. There is one night I was out on the porch, and I could have sworn Steve went "HEY" through the window, truned around and no one was there, he was back in the bedroom and no one else was outside. Tricky Spirits. The one thing I couldn't leave behind in clymer. damn it.
