So my apartment has a "gas fireplace", or so I (and the previous tenants) thought. I just went to light it and the label at the bottom says "decorative appliance - NOT A SOURCE OF HEAT".
Which is fine, cause we also have regular electric heating in the place.
The thing is, I had to sign up with the gas company and I get charged around $50 a month for gas usage that I can't explain. There are no gas appliances outside of the non-fireplace. I closed the gas valve myself before the summer.
I think the landlord is splitting the downstairs caf's gas bill equally among all the other apartments and he installed those gas non-fireplaces as make-believe.
Now I have to call this 80-something Greek guy who speaks worse English than me and get all angry and shit.

but I'm not giving in to the $$$ grubbing just to settle.
I've offered and agreed to some of what she wants only for her to come back wanting more
had another settlement hearing couple weeks ago to try and get it done.
was gonna give her all the shit in house and forget about CS $$$ owed along w/ insurance scam she pulled which fukd me over.
then they come back with give her the title to car BS, and 1/2 value of business also
fuk that, I'll let a judge decide
supposed to get a court date this month, but I've heard that about 5 times the last 2 yrs
