I think sometimes you just have to be grateful for your situation.

I encountered a situation I found strange today. I was sitting on a toilet at work and the guy a couple stalls over sounded like he was having a baby. I mean he was grunting and panting and raising a ruckus in there.

I have never in my life had such a strenuous experience in a toilet stall as that guy was having today. It was incredible.

I could get smug and talk about how I never require any effort really. I just wait until I need to go. And then it just goes. And I could imply he is stupid for not doing the same - but there must be more to it for the guy. He must have something going on.

I think sometimes you just have to be grateful for your situation.

speaking of bathrooms...
been having toilet troubles in back bath.
nothing a plunger couldnt fix. this afternoon it backs up so I wait to give it some time.... usually some water will drain and make for a
cleaner, more enjoyable plunging experience....
ie: no poopy water splashing from bowl while plunging:bugs:

3 to 4 hours later I walk into my room to step into a now poopy water flooded bedroom, along with bathroom, pantry backing up to pooper, and laundry room.
FOK

:headbash:

wet/dry vac, every towel in the house used, fan blowing on soaked carpet, and water turned off and we'll worry another day with it:goodforyou:

I really don't think they are watching you plommer. It's probably that the motion of you looking up catches some people's eyes and so they are looking at you at that moment.

But I think of you working at a laptop computer . . . ?

I'm sorry - no offense intended - same would go for me - I can't see how there's anything to watch there.

Canada has stopped minting pennies. That went more-or-less unnoticed but soon businesses will be asked to return pennies to financial institutions and cash businesses will switch to rounding to the nearest 5 cents. While pennies will remain legal tender indefinitely, the goal is definitely to phase them out.

I do not like this. I don't give a shit about pennies but I do hate whining and I just know there is going to be a lot of whining.

There will be conspiracy theories about incorrect rounding and whatnot from really stupid people who think they're smart.

Apparently it was costing 11 million dollars per year to supply pennies. I am trying to decide if I am willing to pay that price to avoid the whining and stupid stuff.

I guess I have had my first experiences with the new system. I guess my local Dairy Queen has already begun..

I bought a medium Blizzard and the cost was $5.07. I gave $5.10. The girl asked if I wanted the 3 cents.

It caught me off guard. It is not a situation where I am use to there being options. You stand there and get your change and that's the way life has always worked. But life is changing.

I gave it a second's thought and said, "Nah."

Then after I left I was thinking about it, wondering if maybe I had been wimpy back there and let myself be used as a doormat. But the more I thought about it, the more solid it became in my mind that I didn't want the 3 pennies. I made the right call. :handshake:

But I can just imagine situations where guys will take a self-righteous stand and say if DQ doesn't want to fart around with pennies, they should give back a nickel. And that is true in that case. $5.07 should round off to $5.05 rather than $5.10. There would a nickel change.

As it turns out, I don't want the nickel either but it's true.

The larger point being, I don't look forward to getting stuck waiting in line behind some lameass making a self-righteously indignant stand about that shit. Or just listening to some tool in the lunchroom at work bragging - with no clue how ghey they are being - about how they made that stand in a similar situation.

It's gonna happen.
