I just got this. I read it before and kinda scratched my head and mentally filed it under things that do not seem offensive but the full meaning eludes me.

If I had to offer out one piece of advice at this time, it would be this:

Johnny Depp, don't tie your career so much to Tim Burton. You are a very good actor. He is just an okay film-maker. He's alright. He is kind of amusing at times. At his very best, he is pretty good. But that doesn't happen very often and most of the time he is hit and miss.

It's okay to do the odd Tim Burton film. Edward Scissorhands was not a bad decision. I know it's too late to go back and change things but you should have done that and, say, 1 more. 2, tops.

I was thinking about this today when I saw a regular healthy guy park his car in a handicapped spot when there was a regular open spot two spots away.

LOL! Muddy, believe it or not we will be going to see that .5 mattyrains (from reviews) movie tomorrow! It's a grade school thing for MrsM with the original soap she watched religiously in the 60s! We expecting the worst so can't be be disappointed as long as the popcorn is still good! :

Yeah I have not seen Dark Shadows so I wasn't meaning to cast judgment on that. I wouldn't be surprised if it was okay. Watchable. Most Tim Burton movies are. There are moments of amusement.

I'm not meaning to say that Tim Burton is horrible. But he just keeps trotting out the same quirkiness and the same looking art direction. It's not a bad thing to have out there as part of the landscape - but it's also not something that a (potentially) top actor should have as the foundation of his career.
