Hooligans Sportsbook

Random thoughts

I have a hunch I am being made sport of there but I'm not positive.

The answer to the question is I use google for searches. I don't have to go to a special page for it; it is always right there in, like, a toolbar. I have a Hotmail account which I used to check frequently enough that it made sense to make MSN my homepage.

I don't know how defensive to be here. That all feels pretty solid to me.

Now I do still tape stuff from TV with VHS so you can have that.

I renewed my driver's license this week and got my updated stickers.

In the old days (like 2 years ago), I would have had to take a trip to Square One and find the kiosk and get them there. It would be about a 1 hour round trip deal. In the old days before that, I would have had to go to the Ministry of Transport and wait in line to deal with a human. Depending on if I waited until the last minute or not, that could take anywhere from an hour to 3.

But I did not have to even get up off my butt this time. I did the stuff online and the stickers arrived in the mail 3 days later.

Are these great times we are living in or what?

Last night I dreamt I was on the set of Mad Men while they were filming an episode. At one point Joan decided to go for a walk and she was VERY pregnant with her belly out to here, but she was wearing a thong and her ass actually looked very smooth and good. She walked VERY fast. Roger tried walking after her but he couldn't keep up and he gave up, winded.

I was sitting at a long table with some of the characters and they would break into song at different times and I realized they were making a musical episode. I did not like this. I made my feelings clear that when shows do any kind of novelty episode like that, it is very bad. I complained vigorously.

I have my opinions.

ok, I keep hearing about this. Tried watching 10 minutes. What are they in the 60's or something? Don't get an appealing vibe from it.

Yeah. It's based on a Madison Avenue advertising firm in the early 60's.

Seems to me that it's a story about how not to be married. Seemingly every character drinks, smokes, and sleeps around like it's their last day on Earth. There is a complete lack of any intimacy with their spouses. The main character won't even discuss his childhood with his wife. Everyone is miserable and they just continue their behavior to no end when their behavior is most of the reason for their misery.

Meh.

If that's their point, they've already made it. It doesn't need to be pounded EVERY episode.

Whenever the topic comes up I always stress that Mad Men is not for everyone.

Some people, when they have a show/movie/music they like and they hear someone doesn't like it, want to insult that person's taste. If comments like those came up on imdb, no doubt there would be condescending responses along the lines of it being over your head and you should stick with shows about car chases and explosions and blah, blah, blah. That pattern of discussion is the #1 cliche of that kind of forum.

I don't see it that way at all. It's a very particular show. I understand people not liking it. But for those who do, like me, it is a show of a lifetime, particularly that first season.

I had never seen or even heard of Netball until today. I just opened up a bet365 account and I opened up a live stream and BOOM here it is.
