I would not rule out the possibility of someday trying skydiving, but what I definitely don't want to do is tandem skydiving with another guy.

I don't get it. You never used to hear about people tandem skydiving but now I hear about it all the time. Like it has become the accepted - almost mandatory way - to learn how to skydive.

No, just give me the training like they used to do it and I will jump out on my own and take my chances. None of this for Mudcat:

I went skydiving for my birthday about 10 years ago. We took the 8-hour class and went off of a zipline. The problem is that you only get to go from 5000 ft. rather than 13,500 (or something) ft. if you go tandem. Not to mention it was only like a 1 hour course to go tandem...

I highly recommend not showing up still drunk from the night before if you do it.

In socal there is a company that lets you jump solo for your first time. I costs a little more, and there is a few more hours of instruction.
Thats the way I want to do it, someday soon.
