My girlfriend sure does talk a lot.

Sometimes I wonder how much of our conversation is her speaking to me. Like in terms of the total words exchanged between us, I wonder what percentage is her doing the talking.

The number that is coming to mind is 86%. I wonder if she does 86% of the talking. That would mean I do 14%. She would be saying about 6 words for every word I say.

There are times that seems completely realistic - even an underestimation - but then there are times when the conversation is basically equal. Certain topics we just go back and forth on.

After a period of equal conversation, in order for her to get back to her 86% number, she would have to go like 12 words for every word I say for a good length of time.

Sometimes I even monologue for little stretches. I am a relatively quiet person but I am not silent. Sometimes I might describe an incident in my day or express my feelings on some current events and I might say a thousand words. In order for her to get back to 86%, she would have to say 6143 words uninterrupted.

Is this possible? 86%?

I think so.
 
No it's not.

Sometimes I probably even talk more than 1000 words myself. Like if I were to get into the topic of my business and my future, I could really get into some deep analysis.

She would have to follow up by basically reciting a novella to keep up her percentages.

But I stand by the number. 86%.
 
Open letter to Head & Shoulders - you should not expect me to tell the difference between your shampoo, conditioner and 2in1 bottles. 33.33% of the time, I end up with that gooey conditioner shit that I have no use for. Make that bottle black or print NOT SHAMPOO on it, using large bolded letters.

Cut it out you assholes.

This has actually been on my mind for quite a while and I thought I was the only one. It should not take me 10 minutes to make sure I'm picking the right Head & Shoulders. My eyes get fucking blurry.
