Random thoughts

I've decided to adjust my thinking about my weight.

For a long time I was going with a base weight of 168. That basically meant no gut at all.

But I think that was giving me a haggard face. I've decided to up the base weight to 175. So there is perhaps a slight protrusion in the belly area - but I believe my face looks more user-friendly.

I think that is the better balance for me at this stage of things.

Hopefully it doesn't cost me any underwear modeling offers.

Used to be that sneezes always came in pairs. I would sneeze once and I would wait, knowing the second was coming.

As soon as it came, I could go straight out and walk a tightrope across Niagara Falls with no fear there would be more sneezes.

Always two.

But now? Who knows. Could be three. Could be six or eight. I never know.

Damn politicians!!

:mudcat:

Venus is very bright in the evening sky these days. Sometimes I look at that and think about balls spinning and revolving in space. Venus' orbit is interior to earth's so the mechanics dictate that it will sometimes appear just ahead of or behind the sun.

It makes sense.

But then sometimes I ask myself, why should there be anything?

And that's why even though nothing all that weird happened yet, it seems that at any moment something truly crazy could, cause the whole universe might be some illusion in only my mind :hmm:

But then sometimes I ask myself, why should there be anything?

This is one of the best and clearest non-academic explanation I've read:

Tl;dr - Nothing is inherently unstable which is why we are here. We literally come from nothing.

We're likely just a random roll of the dice in an endless multiverse. Cosmological constants like the speed of light are arbitrary values determined at the time the aforementioned dice are rolled.
They basically saying that the kind of nothing we understand is impossible. And to us it seems that kinda of nothing would be the only thing possible.
Not sure if it becomes somekind of philosophical question then or lack of comprehension. But doesn't feel to me that the nothing they are describing as the unstable state, is the nothing I'm thinking . anyway fuck you Matty

:p To me the more interesting question is "Why are things the way they are?" instead of "Why is there anything at all?"

Like, there is a finite amount of matter in the observable universe. Why? What made the universe trigger x amount of stuff and not x+1?
